Jane Peppler began playing with Bob Vasile in
1982. As the Pratie Heads (Gaelic for "Potato"), they were long time members of
the NC Touring Artists program; they gave a St Patrick's concert at the
Smithsonian Institution and appeared live on the Diane Rehm radio show in
Washington DC. Steve Winick wrote in Dirty Linen magazine: "The Pratie Heads
were their state's premiere performers of British Isles traditional music."
Since then Jane has performed with the world music band Mappamundi and has
lectured and performed rare Yiddish theater music at the Library of Congress, at
Yidish Vokh and Trip to Yiddishland, and in Poland.
